We like to partner with restaurants who share our sustainability values. However, our goal is to offer a sustainable takeout alternative to customers everywhere, no matter the cuisine!
We are here for you anytime you order food to-go directly from the restaurant.
Simply download the app, sign up and head to one of our partner locations. Once you are there, request a FoodWare container, scan the QR code and you’re good to go!
- Visit the original location, open the app and hit the “return” button.
- Scan the food vendor’s QR code as well as the QR code on the container lid.
- Deposit your container at the return bin at the restaurant.
- Place a new order at the restaurant or simply get your deposit back.
Return the container at the original location where you collected it. The restaurant will have a designated return bin for FoodWare containers.
We encourage you to return the container at your earliest convenience to get your deposit back. But don’t worry, we will send you reminders through the app to make it as easy as possible for you!
We don’t require for you to rinse the containers, though we would definitely appreciate it if you give them a rinse! Once they are returned, the food vendor sanitizes the containers - just like any other kitchenware. This way we ensure they are adequately and properly cleaned and ready for their next use.
You can have up to 3 containers in your inventory. That means if you collected 1 container and forgot to return it, you can still collect up to 2 more. If you have collected 3 already, you’ll need to return at least one container before you can collect another one.
- You can have up to 3 in your inventory at any given time. But it's unlimited use! Just keep returning to keep borrowing.
Yes! Our containers are just as clean as if you were dining in at the restaurant and eating off a regular plate, with the added benefit that they are environmentally-friendly!

During checkout at the restaurant, you will be charged a $3 deposit if you get one container or a $5 deposit if you need 2-3 containers. You can get your deposit back as soon as you return the containers.
Return the container(s) at the restaurant, scan the QR code on the app and show the confirmation screen at the cashier to get your deposit back. If instead you wish to place a new order and get another FoodWare container, simply show the screen and reorder!
If the QR code is not working, select “Enter Container ID Manually” and enter the 8-digit code displayed below the QR code.
Please send us the container ID by submitting this form. To find the ID, head over to “more” → “previous orders” → and write down the ID of the containers you think you forgot to scan.
